As announced by Earth Day 2010 Action Center, at http://www.earthday.org/earthday2010, while climate change is the greatest challenge of our time, it also presents the greatest opportunity – an unprecedented opportunity to build a healthy, prosperous, clean energy economy now and for the future.

Earth Day 2010 can be a turning point to advance climate policy, energy efficiency, renewable energy and green jobs.

Earth Day Network is galvanizing millions who make personal commitments to sustainability. Earth Day 2010 is a pivotal opportunity for individuals, corporations and governments to join together and create a global green economy. Join the more than one billion people in 190 countries that are taking action for Earth Day.

The Earth Day 2010 Action Center recommends that each of us should take action in our individual way to help save Mother Earth, such as:

1. Reduce your electricity usage, avoid your car, and instead ride a bike now.

2. Eat less meat.

3. Plant seeds of change, like starting a seedling nursery to supply our future tree planting activities.

4. Make children to habituate that planting trees will save our Earth.

5. Educate the people to use solar power.

6. Recycle, don’t waste, and try to be as efficient as possible.

Indeed, there is no other time in the world than now to help save Mother Earth. As the ancient Indian proverb says:

“Treat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to your by your children. We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children.”

  1. Good post. I believe that it is everybody’s responsibility to help save the Earth– the only planet we got. I also agree that we must reduce, recycle, and reuse our things and we should start on our individual self, our homes and in our community

  2. Some good tips, Eli. I can tell you that my relatives here in the Philippines recycle everything possible as a matter of necessity. Have to make the money stretch as far as possible and help out Mother Earth at the same time.

  3. yeah save the world if we want to live more comfortable

  4. Eli,

As always, you have piqued my interest, especially on your point #5 – educating people to use solar power. After just retiring from 8 years on our local school board, I am still involved with helping to develop a renewable energy curriculum. To help educators see renewable energy topics through their eyes, I created a blog called Energicaion. It is a play on the words “Energy” and “Education.” I hope you and your readers find it interesting.

    Best regards,

    Dave

  5. nice post.. its great to know that more and more people are active in pursuing a green planet.

  6. I’m a recycler myself. :)
