Introduction

If you type the name of my blog “Business Sphere” which is a keyword, in Google or Yahoo search, you will find that my blog is on Page One of search engine results page of either Google or Yahoo!.

This despite the fact that there are more than a thousand other “Business Sphere” keywords that appear in search results, belonging to different entities, blogs, corporate names, and magazines.

How did I make my blog land on Page 1 of search results of Google and Yahoo!?

The Secrets

I’m now sharing with you the four secrets to get your blog on page one of search engines and bring steady traffic to your blog daily, and the secrets are easy to do.

As a blogger it is important to realize this fact– that the search engines, especially Google, is the only constant and continuing source of traffic to your blog and it’s free.

What are these four secrets for your blog to be in Page One of search engine results page (SERP) every time people browse the web related to your niche and get quality traffic to your blog? These are the following:

1. Good Quality Content. Content is king, and a fresh or updated content done on a regular basis is important for search engines. Why is this so? Because the engines index websites in accordance with the content found on each page of your blog or site. Every time you publish your post and add a page to your blog, the same is also added to the database of an engine should its “spider” or web crawler consider it relevant to its existing index.

So, the key is to publish unique and good quality content frequently, at least three times a week, to keep your visitors on your blog, and for the engines to index every time their spiders or web crawlers roam the web.

2. Links. Links are small routes leading to your website, and the more links you have, the more visible is your blog in search engines. Another technique to build your links is to comment on other good blogs and include your URL in your comment. This will not only increase your visibility to Google and Yahoo! for example, but will also contribute to improving your page rank.

3. Keywords. When you write your post, use keywords. Why keywords? The reason for this is that when people search the web, they do it in keywords. In short, keywords add strength to the title of your post and topic, thus improving your blog’s visibility through search engine optimization (SEO).

4. Search Engines Submission. The primary objective of a search engine is to provide the most relevant and informative web pages to web browsers or people who search the web, and this is done through the results page.

To get to Page One of SERP of Google, Yahoo! or Bing, which comprised the big three, it is a basic requirement that your blog must have been already indexed by these engines. And the quickest way is to submit your blog to them!

You don’t need to submit your blog to 350 or 500 search engines, as advertise by many firms on the internet. Businesses which offer this service are suspect, since about 85% of the search results on the web come from just one engine, Google.

As such, if you have a few links from established websites like EzineArticles.com, or a blog directory, engines like Google will find your blog on its index and database pertaining to your niche. Search engines give more importance to links from sites which are popular and credible and also from sites which are relevant to your blog topic.
