Six Secrets To Boost Your Alexa Rank And Monetize Your Blog’s Traffic
Many bloggers have been preoccupied with their Alexa traffic rank. In fact, you can see many sites with the Alexa traffic rank widgets.
Why you should be concerned about Alexa and want to increase your rank?
The important reason is this: advertisers and ad networks like AdBrite, Tex Link Ads, Review Me and sponsored reviews and pay-per-post firms like Paying Post look at your blog’s selling strengths based on Alexa rank.
Therefore, if you want to monetize your blog, it is important that it has respectable daily visitors, and increasing your Alexa rank is a must for you to increase your site’s ad value and price. How do you increase your Alexa rank? Here’s the six secrets:
1. Publish good quality content posts and update it regularly. Content is essential for traffic and a top search engines ranking. Content is what search engines spiders look for and index – without it there’s nothing to index or rank.
It’s the content that gives visitors and search engines, like Google’s semi-omnipresent web crawler Googlebot, a reason to visit and index your site. Make a commitment to update at least thrice weekly optimized content and your traffic will soar, which Alexa will track down, resulting to increasing your daily traffic rank.
2. Promote your blog. Promotion is necessary to make your blog known to your target readers and subscribers. Having good quality content is not enough. Your blog must have visitors to read your posts. Content and traffic is like horse and carriage, each is useless without the other. So, advertise your blog for more exposure and traffic and your Alexa rank will soar.
3. Link your blog. Have relevant incoming links. The more websites which link to your webpages, the more valuable search engines perceive you to be. Search engines give more leverage to links from sites which are popular and credible and from sites which are relevant to your content. This will boost your traffic from search engines, which will result to increase in your Alexa rank.
4. Install the Alexa toolbar. This is basic. The Alexa rank is measured according to the amount of users who visit a blog or site with the Alexa toolbar installed. Once you have installed the toolbar, set your blog as your homepage.
5. Put up an Alexa rank widget on your blog. You can see my Alexa traffic rank on my blog, and I’ve been receiving some clicks everyday from fellow bloggers who want to go direct to Alexa website through my widget to check their own rank. Some webmasters believe that each click counts as a visit even if the toolbar is not used by the visitors.
6. Be active in Entrecard. It has been proven that Entrecard (EC) helps in driving blog traffic to its users. Many EC users-members have the Alexa toolbar installed and bloggers active in dropping cards daily always experience a surge in traffic, resulting to a rise in their Alexa rank.
Now that you know the secrets, there’s no more excuse why your Alexa rank will not increase as a result. This way, you can monetize your blog traffic with the advertisers.

Now I understand about Alexa rank and why bloggers are concerned about their sites’ ranking. Thanks for posting. You always write very good content which I, even though am not a blogger, appreciate.
Hi,
I agree with everything upto EntreCard (EC). EC may actually damage your blog ranking by the high bounce and and low time on the site. I found this out the hard way with my blog.
