Three Quick Ways For Your Blog To Be Listed In Google
I have been asked by fellow bloggers on how to get their blogs listed in search engines, especially Google, which accounts for 90 percent of all searches in the internet.

One blogger wrote to me, saying that he has been blogging for a year and yet his blog can’t be found in Google search results. Just three days ago, Frostygirl, a newbie blogger, commented on my post, asking how to submit her blog to search engines.
The desires of bloggers to get their sites indexed are very understandable, for the reason that search engines, especially Google, are the only constant and continuing source of traffic and it’s free.
That’s why there are many firms today which advertise and tell that they will submit your blog to 350-500 search engines, but for a fee ranging from $ 50.00 – $ 199.00.
However, it is important to know that when you talk about search engines, only one dominates the search traffic – Google.
Furthermore, if you want to have a Page Rank, it is necessary that your web pages must have already indexed by Google. However, before your web pages can be indexed, your blog must be listed first in Google.
So, how you can make your blog listed by Google?
Here’s what you must do:
1). Submit Direct To Google
Submit your blog via Google’s FREE submit your site form. Just add your URL and Google’s web crawler, Googlebot, will do the rest.
But please note that Google does not add all submitted URLs to its index, and it cannot make any predictions or guarantees about when or if your site will appear or be indexed.
2. Get Linked From A Site That Google Crawls
This is a method that some SEO experts recommend and it works. You link your blog to a site that Google already crawls. This way, when Google spiders crawls the web site, it will find the link to your site and crawl and index it as well.
This is Google’s preferred method of finding sites to index.
Now you understand why there are many sites that sell their links. But you don’t have to buy links. Simply find the good quality blogs and post sensible comments with your URL, which is a normal practice.
3. Submit Your Blog To Yahoo! Directory
Another method is to submit your site to the Yahoo! Directory for a free submission. Click Submit Your Site page, and click a “Submit a Website or Webpage” form.
Once your blog or site is indexed in Yahoo!, it is easy to be included in the Google index. This method is like having a double whammy—your site is indexed by Yahoo! and also by Google.
Once your blog is included in Google and Yahoo directories, it will appear in the Google index in about 4 to 8 weeks.
Now that you know the three methods, it is time to make it work for you, as it has worked for me.

Not all sites are do follow in the comments section. Best to get some links in the sidebars of blogs similar to your own, as well as comment. Good info!
Hey just quick question about yahoo directory. Where’s the free submission link….kind of can’t afford the $299 right now.
@ make money online cash rewards club, here’s the link for Yahoo! free URL submission: http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit
Just click the above link and it will bring you to a Submit Your Site page. Click it and the “Submit A Website or Webpage” form will open.
These are all great tips for newbie and seasoned bloggers alike. Getting your link on a high ranking Google site I found out is a great way to get your site crawled and listed. This is exactly why it is imperative to read and comment on other blogs which are related to the topics on your own blogs.
It’s also important to add meta tags and keywords to your blog and pages. This will help the search engines find you. I have always used the Google and Yahoo free site submission tool and it works. There is also a site called selfpromotion.com which is basically a listing of all the search engines and directories where you can manually submit your websites and blogs. It takes a little time but it beats paying someone to do it for you.
Thanks also for the information on the time period for having your site listed. I always though that it took several months so I am happy to read the 4 to 8 week time period.
Great posting and thank you for sharing this important information.
How do you get to know which sites google already crawl? I have submitted my blog to both google and yahoo earlier.
@Zainab, one way to know if Google has already indexed your site (meaning, the Googlebot and spiders are crawling your site regularly, especially if you have a new post) is to go to Google, put the URL of your site on it, and then click “search”. If your content and posts appear on the search, it means Google spiders are already indexing your site.
