Real estate has always been a good investment.
But it is likewise a better investment for the children, to bequeath to them some properties so that when they grow up, they have a reserve especially when the going gets tough on them.
Real estate refers to the totality of the assets owned by a person which include real and personal properties and the interest found on them. These include land, buildings, and any improvements found on the land.
Why is real estate a good investment for us now and for our children in the future? The following are some of the reasons:
1. The supply of real estate is limited or fixed. Real estate is always in demand because people will need places to live, business and industries will need the land within which to build structures and offices to operate. As population grows, demand for real estate will also increase.
2. Appreciation in value. Because real estate is in fixed or limited supply, it always appreciates in price and value. The value of real estate has been consistently increasing in any part of the world, especially in the cities, for more than hundred years now.
3. Puts you in control. When you invest in real estate, you are the one making the decision. In contrast, when you invest in stocks, you don’t have a say in decision-making as it is the officers and directors of the company who decide how the business will operate. Even investments in precious metals, gold and gems are dependent on the market.
4. Investment for all seasons. Real estate is a kind of asset that is permanent, being fixed and not movable. Thus, thieves and robbers cannot steal or take it away from you, because the land and its improvements are always there, in season or out of season.
In sum, real estate is a better way for building wealth and creating financial security, for ourselves now and for our children in the future.

With that being said and known, in regards to the title and the opening of this article, I always remember the silliest thing when thinking of the importance of owning land.
The thing that keeps me grounded in the knowledge of knowing this relates to an old classic American film,’Gone With The Wind’ and the remark her father said to Katie Scarlett, the main character played beautifully by the wonderful English actress, Vivien Leigh.
Please forgive the paraphrase; there’s nothing in this life more important than the land Katie Scarlett…..I can’t remember it. But, for me that is true.
The importance and benefit owning land, property, has always been the ultimate dream, at least ,in my opinion, for most individuals in most societies throughout history.
If I were 45 or under and qualified, I would be buying as much as I possible could right now here in America. Foreclosures are everywhere, the inflation finally deflated, it is definitely a buyer’s market right now.
The changing of riches and wealth, in a society, especially on a scale as large as is currently taking place is exciting. For every loser than is always a winner.
